What is TELeaD ----
Learning in a discipline requires a deep understanding of not only the content but also the authentic practices specific to that discipline. Learners need to develop skills and abilities specific to a domain to know how the knowledge in that field is structured and produced. Understanding of disciplinary practices
Our TELeaD project aims at developing research-based learning solutions leveraging technology to develop learners’ disciplinary practices. TELeaD stands for Technology-Enhanced Learning of Disciplinary Practices. We focus on designing, developing, and evaluating strategies, tools, and learning environments to teach and learn various disciplinary practices in a diverse set of domains.
Our TELeaD systems have successfully trained 2000 students in various disciplinary practices across domains like data structures, engineering design, history, genetics, and more. Most of these are standalone systems that students can use to learn at home or by the teachers as a supplementary tool to teach their students. Researchers can build on our TELeaD framework to design systems or strategies for other kinds of problems.
